March 2017 Design Trends:
Beat The Blues:
Spring is all about introducing accents of colour into your home. Blue and green are possibly two of our favourites and with Pantone naming Green as its colour of the year it was a must for our March design trend. These vibrant colours exude liveliness and by incorporating them into your home will help create an exciting focal point. Adding pops of colour into your interior can easily be done with furniture and accessories. Our Etienne chests of drawers are a great way to add impact to your room and can be featured alongside other furniture and accessories to create a stunning focal point. The beauty of decorating with blue and green shades is that they’re exceptionally versatile so are easy to mix with other shades and materials like white, silver, rattan or cork. Decorating with colour is a great way to add personality to your interior and will also give a wonderful fresh look for Spring.
All White Everything:
All white everything! This trend pretty much sums itself up; this month we’re turning our attention to all white furniture and accessories. Granted sometimes all white can look clinical and cold however if you select white finished pieces with texture whether that be ornate detailing or elegant carvings you suddenly create a luxurious feel that’s far from clinical. Our French chateau range is a perfect example of how to make this trend work. The delicate detailing on each piece creates an authentic French feel and would work in a bedroom environment perfectly creating a calm, tranquil feel. White is also a colour that works exceptionally well with other accent colours allowing you to subtly introduce some colour through your accessories. Spring is the perfect time to try out this look as it’s fresh and bright creating a charming, vibrant feel to our décor.
We’ll always have a soft spot for mirrored furniture due to its elegant, sophisticated properties that can instantly transform a room. Reflective glamour doesn’t mean you require tons of glamorous accessories in your room it’s about creating the illusion of luxury. Take any piece of furniture or an accessory that has a mirrored area and positon it strategically so that it can effectively reflect an ornament, wall décor or even your lighting, this reflection will add to the opulence of your room. The beauty of mirrored furniture pieces are that they’re often fairly minimal in their design yet the all glass finish gives them a striking appearance that can easily transform any space.
